Tim Upsdell is the Principal Psychologist at Fleurieu Psychology Services. His academic qualifications include a Masters in Psychology (Clinical) and a Masters in Psychology (Organisational). He has also completed a Certificate in Family Therapy from the Dulwich Centre, and has training in a number of specific techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Hypnosis and Rapid Eye Movement Desensitisation. He worked for 10 years with offending and homeless youth and 13 years in the area of Vocational Rehabilitation for people with disabilities, both physical and psychological before establishing Fleurieu Psychology Services in 2003.
Tim consults at Tavwick House Christies Beach on Monday and Thursday, Hallett Cove on Tuesday, Victor Harbour and Goolwa once a fortnight on alternative Wednesdays, Aldinga once a fortnight on a Friday, and GPAxis Seaford-Meadows once a fortnight on a Saturday.

Corrie is the longest employed practitioner at FPS (excluding Tim) having been with the practice since 2007. Following the bulk of her tertiary studies, Corrie moved across from Victoria and undertook a 2-year internship in Adelaide. She then registered as a psychologist in 1998 and started her own private practice. Since registering, she has worked for herself as well as organisations including Baptist Community Services, Adelaide Psychology Consultants, Tabor College, the University of South Australia, the Department of Defence, Maxima Joblink, and De Poi Consultancy Services. Her speciality is working with children and their families and includes Childhood Disability and Disorders (e.g. Autism and ADHD), Behaviour Management, Assessment, Depression, Anxiety, Aggression, Adjustment, School Readiness, Bullying and Abuse. Her interests and experience working with adults has been in Counselling (e.g. Relationship Issues, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD/Trauma etc.), Teaching, Recruitment and Selection, Job Network, and Vocational Assessments (for WorkCover and victims of MVA’s).

Nigel has a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology, two Post Graduate Diplomas of Psychology (Psychology and Psychological Studies), a Bachelor of Business and an Advanced Diploma in Salvation Army Ministry. He is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and an Associate member of the Australian Psychological Society. Nigel is a practitioner with experience across a range of psychological areas, including Depression, Anxiety, Anger, Stress, Addictions (Alcohol, Drugs and Gambling), Grief and Loss, Relationship & Marital Difficulties, Adolescents & Young Adult Life Issues, and General Life Choice Issues. He has a specific interest in Male Health and Wellbeing, and is particularly interested in the experience, role, and importance of fathers. Nigel has a vast array of experience within both the private and non-government sectors. This includes working in Mental Health Research and Development, Community Mental Health, Psychological Assessment and Interventions for Employment Services, Domestic Violence, Private Practice as well as Management and Human Resources.

Bronwyn received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from NT University. She undertook a 2 year internship with Tim Upsdell at Fleurieu Psychology Services. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and has been an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society since 8/3/95.
Bronwyn worked for 7 years with St John Ambulance NT providing recruitment, counselling, Psychological Assessment and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. She was employed with Job Network for 10 years in various capacities including Job Capacity Assessment, Personal Support Program and providing Psychological Services to clients with multiple and severe barriers such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, anger, grief, alcohol and drug addictions, homelessness, childhood abuse and domestic violence.
Bronwyn has been with Fleurieu for 6 years and specialises in adults and older clients utilising therapies such as CBT, Strengths Based Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Client Centred Therapy and mindfulness techniques.

Mercedas is a Psychologist with a background in Sports and Exercise. She specialises in Emotional Regulation and Performance Psychology. Mercedas has her own private practise and is the founder/owner of CounterPunch Pty Ltd. CounterPunch is a program she has developed that uses physical exercise as a medium for emotional regulation. She specialises in Life skills, Anger management, Anxiety, Stress management and Well-being. Merc has also worked extensively with athletes at all levels of performance. She has coached and participated herself at an elite level in both Boxing and Martial Arts.
Merc worked extensively as a school counsellor and as a workplace manager in Ireland before coming to Australia in 2006. She completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Tasmania and worked in the Northern Territory for six years. While working with the NT department of Health she worked as a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Psychologist and piloted and ran her CounterPunch Program. Since coming to SA she has worked with Headspace Murray Bridge, has a private practise and runs CounterPunch Facilitator workshops for adults who work with youth including Teachers, Health workers, Coaches and Parents.

Carola Cardoso is a registered Psychologist with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australia Psychologist Society (APS). Carola focuses mainly on working with those suffering from chronic diseases to manage chronic pain and associated psychological complications. She received a degree of Professional Psychologist and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Communications at Diego Portales University in 2009 (Chile). Then, she worked three years in the department of communication and strategy at Redpath Chilean constructions, (http://www.redpathmining.com/regions/south-america/) as an Organisational Psychologist.
Carola came to Australia in 2011 to further develop her career. Her degree of Professional Psychologist has been recognised by the APS and currently, she is undertaking a master’s degree in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at Flinders University. As part of her professional development, she has been training in emotional and social skills in children. She has working experience in different areas of psychological distress, including anger management, pain management, relationship family difficulties, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and bullying.
Currently, she is part of the project ‘Measuring Social and Emotional Literacy Skills in Early Learners: An Efficacy Study of What’s the Buzz?’, and of the project “Psychology, Cancer and others Chronic Diseases” at Flinders University.

Koz Lebessis is an experienced Registered Psychologist. He has a Bachelor of Arts (Adelaide University), Bachelor of Psychology – Clinical and Educational Psychology (Murdoch University), and Master of Applied Psychology – Clinical and Educational Psychology (Murdoch University). He is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Since 1992 Koz has worked for various private and government agencies and tertiary institutions in the areas of mental health, child protection and crisis management. He has worked with adults, adolescents and children with a range of mental health, emotional and behavioural concerns and issues including anxiety and panic attacks, depression, anger management, stress and tension, unresolved grief, fears and phobias, life adjustment, relationships, and children’s behaviour. He has a specific interest in men’s mental health issues.
His treatment approach is based on evidence based Behavioural and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy.

Wendy is a registered general psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Wendy completed a PhD in psychology in 2011 (Deakin University) investigating the effects of chronic medical conditions on life satisfaction and psychological wellbeing, and an additional six years of psychology training and education including a Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from The Cairnmillar Institute. Psychology experience includes working in a private hospital setting delivering psychological education, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy to in-patient and day program groups; Gender Clinic work with clients experiencing gender dysphoria; psychology team member in a publicly-funded continuing care service for clients with ongoing complex needs, and placement with the Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach (PEPA), among others.
Wendy maintained a private counselling practice for seven years prior to obtaining registration as a psychologist; served as a uniformed officer in the RAAF specialising in recruitment, training and counselling of military personnel from 1985 -1997; and as a lecturer/tutor in consumer behaviour and market research at Victoria University and Deakin University, Melbourne from 2003-2010.
Wendy’s main adult client focus is on assisting with anxiety (general anxiety, panic, phobias, PTSD and complex trauma), depression, grief and loss, palliative care support, life transitions, managing intense emotions, and interpersonal relationships (individual counselling). Wendy also has an ongoing interest in the treatment of compulsive buying and overspending issues. Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Trauma-focused therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-based Therapy. Bonnie initially completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2002 in South Africa, and after moving to the UK, she engaged in further training and was awarded a UK British Psychological Society (BPS) Statement of Equivalence in 2009. She has recently moved to Adelaide and has successfully completed a Board-approved transitional program in order to achieve general registration as a Psychologist in Australia. She also holds full registration in both South Africa and the UK.
Bonnie has worked as a Clinical Psychologist within the UK National Health Service (NHS) for the past 15 years within various mental health settings, including community mental health teams, acute mental health settings and a specialist eating disorder service. Although she has experience of treating clients of all ages, the majority of her clinical practice to date has been with adults. Her special interests include eating disorders, anxiety, trauma and mood disorders.
Bonnie utilises a formulation-based approach and will work with clients to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties in order to help design and carry out effective treatment plans. She has been trained in a number of evidence-based psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR), Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA) and Compassion-focused therapy (CFT).

ADELE MURPHY - Provisional Psychologist

Adele has a Bachelor of Psychology and Counselling from Edith Cowan University and Honours Degree in Psychology from Flinders University. She is currently in her second year of a two year board approved internship in a private practice. In 2018, Adele worked at a school as the school psychologist (provisional). She is registered as a provisional psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Adele has been working towards her internship at Fleurieu Psychology Services since January 2017 under the supervision of Tim Upsdell. Her area of interest is working with children and their families. Specifically, child behavioural management and intervention, building social and emotional skills, bullying, issues at school, Autism Spectrum Disorder, family therapy, anxiety and depression. Adele has run several social skills groups in schools including ‘What’s the Buzz’ and ‘Zones of Regulation’.

PETER DAVIES – Provisional Psychologist
Peter is a Provisional Psychologist working towards his general registration. He studied at the University of Adelaide and completed the Bachelor and Honours degree in Psychological Science. He is registered with AHPRA and an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society.
While Peter works across the lifespan, from children to the elderly, he uses an evidence-based approach and focuses on: anxiety and depression, trauma, Substance use and addiction, personality disorders, behavioural issues, and relationships.

KERRY GARDNER – Provisional Psychologist

Kerry is a Provisional Psychologist working towards her general registration. Her qualifications include a Diploma of Counselling from Bower Place in 2013, Bachelor of Psychological Science from Flinders University in 2018 and a Graduate Diploma of Psychology Advanced from Monash University in 2019. Kerry is registered with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
She worked for seven years as a Psychosocial Support Worker, supporting people with severe barriers including anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, acquired brain injury and various disabilities, both physical and psychological.
Kerry has an interest in working with adolescents and adults with a wide range of complex mental health, emotional, behavioural and relationship concerns. She has a particular interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy.
REBECCA HORSNELL – Provisional Psychologist
Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Graduate Certificate of Loss, Grief and Trauma Counselling.
Rebecca completed her Honours in Psychology at Flinders University in 2013 and completed a Graduate Certificate in Loss, Grief and Trauma Counselling in 2019.
Currently, she is about to commence her second year in the two year board approved internship as a Provisionally Registered Psychologist under AHPRA and has been working at Fleurieu Psychology Services since the beginning of 2019.
For the past 5 years Rebecca has worked as a Community Mental Health Support Worker in the non government sector. In this role, Rebecca works with adults with a range of complex mental health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, and borderline personality disorder to live independently, avoid hospital admission and work towards their recovery goals.
Rebecca has an interest in perinatal mental health, birth trauma, early infant attachment and parenting. She also has experience working with people with suicidal ideation and self harm behaviours.
Rebecca is at Christies Beach on Wednesday and Hallett Cove on Friday.
